Here’s where it will be raining, snowing or a mix of both across the nation for your Friday and into the weekend; plus, your US forecast highs

Rainfall for the South and East

Rainfall is on tap for Friday through Saturday for most of the southern and eastern US. Rainfall from Louisiana to New York and the lower New England states will persist through Friday and begin to taper off on Saturday.

The Gulf States will see rain and thunderstorms and may experience some severe weather in around Houston, most of Louisiana and the southern portions of Mississippi and Alabama, as well as the Florida Panhandle, the northern portion of the state, and most of Georgia.

Snow and wintry mix for North-central, Western and Northeastern US

Friday will see snowfall in the eastern portions of the Dakotas, western Minnesota, and the northwestern tip of Iowa.

Snowfall is forecast for northwestern Montana, northern and western Wyoming, north-central Colorado, and areas outside of Denver to the west.

In the eastern US, snow will move into the northern New England states on Saturday, while out west, the snow in Montana and Idaho will move East.

Who will see a wintry mix?

A wintry mix moves through the north-central and northeastern portion of the US today, and will continue in a southeasterly direction on Saturday.

A wintry mix is also in store for southern Minnesota, all of Iowa, northern Missouri, southern and western Wisconsin, southern Michigan, all of Illinois and Indiana, western Kentucky, northern Ohio, the northern tip of Pennsylvania, and eastern and central New York.

Portions of Texas will see a wintry mix from El Paso eastward to Odessa and Midland.

To the West, a wintry mix will be widespread throughout Washington state, most of Oregon, and northern California, as well as northern Idaho and Northwestern Montana.
